As we know, medical device molds can process a series of plastic parts of different shapes and sizes through the coordinated changes of convex molds, concave molds and auxiliary molding systems. In order to meet the demand of products, some matters need to be paid attention to when choosing medical molds and the corresponding requirements. Yize Mould prompts you: choose the right medical device mold to meet the following requirements.
、High corrosion resistance. Many resins and additives have corrosive effect on the surface of the cavity, and this corrosion makes the metal on the surface of the cavity dissolve and flake off, and the surface condition deteriorates, and the quality of the molded parts deteriorates. So it is good to use corrosion-resistant steel, or chromium or nickel-plated cavity surface treatment.
, good wear resistance. The surface gloss and precision of the plastic parts and medical mold cavity surface wear resistance is directly related, especially some plastics to add glass fiber, inorganic fillers and some pigments, with the plastic melt together in the runner and the cavity of the rapid flow, the cavity surface produces a lot of friction. If the material is not wear-resistant, it will soon wear out, thus damaging the quality of the medical mold.
, good dimensional stability. When the plastic is molded, the temperature of the plastic mold cavity may reach over 300℃ (572℉). So choose tool steel (heat-treated steel) that has been properly tempered, otherwise it will change the microstructure of the material, resulting in changes in the dimensions of the medical mold.
, easy processing. Mold parts are mostly made of metal materials, some have complex structure and shape, in order to shorten the production cycle, the mold material is required to be easily processed into the shape and accuracy required by the drawings.
, good polishing performance. Plastic parts are usually required to have a good gloss and surface condition, so the cavity surface roughness is very small, so that the cavity surface polishing, grinding and other surface treatment. Therefore, the selected steel should not contain rough impurities, air holes and so on.
